To develop a culturally and religiously sensitive educational program that can rapidly enhance the potential and capacity of almajiri youth for a vocational career.

Services

Specific objectives:

Target

1. Produce educational resources for training almajiri in Ajami and Hausa.

2. Strengthening the literacy and numeracy level of almajiri through Ajami and Hausa.

3. Improving and enhancing their ability to recite the Glorious Qur’an with proper Tajweed.

4. Career guidance and counselling through exposure to diverse vocational guilds.

Development of Instructional Materials

Training and pedagogical materials developed in 5 subject areas namely:

Target

1. Ajami Literacy
2. Ajami Numeracy
3. Hausa (Hausa in English Alphabet)
4. Tajweed
5. Vocational Skill Exposure

A total of 50 Almajirai trained in the 5 subject areas.

Main Activities

Target

1. Developing the Teaching Resources
2. Conducting the training in the relevant subject areas for 32 Contact Sessions across a period of 4 months
3. Conducting practical hands-on exercises for exposure to 29 vocations
